Résumé : In this paper we explore connections among globalization, structural change, and economic growth for a large group of developed and developing countries during the period 1995-2019. By using a simple growth model, we add a few variables related to structural change accounting for the different approaches shown in the economic literature on this topic. Additionally, we analyze the role of globalization which is a key issue to describe the dynamics in the world economy for the period we analyze. In this sense, the main aim of the paper is to study and compare different approaches of structural change and, consequently, industrial policy for long term economic development. Very preliminary results show a few interesting issues: firstly, structural change (rather independently of its conceptualization) is a key issue to explain long term growth. More interestingly, globalization tends to be less relevant for growth when structural change is added to the estimations, which may be interpreted as of globalization being a mean to foster rapid structural change rather than an aim.
